Judith B. Reuning, M.Ed.

As experienced college educators in science, mathematics, and health care, Dick and Judy Reuning combine their passion for creating high quality learning experiences with over thirty years of teaching all ages and many topics in the church. Through LifeCrossings they have committed second careers to writing and publishing learning materials (with companion leader's guides) that connect Christian faith with the daily challenges of life in American society. Drawing on the guidance of their advisory board, with its breadth of expertise and diverse Christian background, as well as their own experiences as volunteers and board members in the social service arena, they are developing resources for Christian communities of any denomination.

Dick and Judy have two children and two grandchildren, and are members of Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Columbus, OH. Two additional communities have had a significant influence on their Christian growth. Twice a month they meet with Noah's Family Care Group for Bible study and to discuss applications of Christianity in everyday life. They facilitate a monthly early morning group called "Connections" that discusses living one's faith in the workplace. They relish the opportunities and challenges of achieving the mission of LifeCrossings.

In addition to administrative work at the Pontifical College Josephinum, Judy has taught secondary and college level mathematics plus college learning skills. Dick has taught a variety of pharmacy courses at the professional and graduate levels, as well as serving as chairperson and associate dean at Ohio State University. Both are life-long members and leaders in the Lutheran church where they have held board positions in the Southern Ohio Synod, Faith Mission (homeless shelters), and Lutheran Social Services of Central Ohio, as well as numerous congregational offices including president. Besides serving as youth leaders and choir members at church, they have been volunteers in the Columbus Public Schools and local arts groups. Dick has returned to his love of music by playing violin with the semi-professional chamber music group, Synchronicity.

LifeCrossings Advisory Board

Each publication is reviewed in depth by a twelve-member Advisory Board, which has representation from many Christian faith traditions and provides expertise in areas as diverse as theology, psychology, science, engineering, mathematics, health care, pedagogy, the arts, ethics, youth and health ministries. The Board includes a counseling psychologist, an engineer, a church musician, a theologian, four parish pastors, a non-profit executive, and three college educators.
